Laco is currently studying for a PhD at Slovak Technical University The Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies (FIIT) and his specialization is IT / OT SOC, where as an analyst investigates advanced cyber threats in the environment of industrial systems, SCADA, ICS / DCS, manufacturing networks or energy infrastructures. His task is to monitor, detect and respond to security incidents in these systems in order to prevent production outages, disruptions or damage to critical infrastructure.
He is the Head of the IoT Network Technologies and Cybersecurity Laboratory at STU FIIT. He is engaged in research and analytical activities in the field of cybersecurity in cooperation with the industrial sector. He participated in research on energy efficiency and security of the IoT LPWA network.
He cooperates intensively with the academic and private spheres on IoT security projects such as LoRA, LPWAN networks. Expertise in programming (C, C++, Java, Java Script), Database systems, Network technologies (LAN, WAN, SDN, LoRa, LPWA, VPN, MPLS TE, Chirpstack), and protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
